Qatna Studies - QA. Results of the excavations. Published by Pfälzner and Michel al-Maqdissi
The series Qa?na Studies aims to present the results of the German-Syrian excavations in Tall Misrife Qa?na - Syria. In the 1999 to 2010 field research conducted in the 1920s, under the direction of Robert du Mesnil du Buisson exposed Palace of the 2nd millennium. v. Re-examined. In doing so, questions of the basic plan were to be solved, the history of the building clarified and hints on the function of the palace areas collected. Furthermore, the integration of the building into the city and its external appearance was explored. The excavations not only provided answers to these questions, but also led to surprising discoveries such as the royal tomb ensemble, part of the palace archives, and many fragments of murals. In the volumes of the series, the architecture and building graphigraphy of the palace areas with associated ceramics and small finds are published and important findings groups and their evaluations are presented in monographs.
