In addition to the magazine, founded in 1866 to publish the Hermes monographs studies classical philology and related subjects such as ancient history, archeology, epigraphy and numismatics. They give the impression rich variety of research on the Greco-Roman antiquity in literature and on linguistics and historic area.
Hermes was justified by Theodor Mommsen, Adolf Kirchhoff and Rudolf Hercher, first editor was Emil Hübner. Currently, the number of Jan-Wilhelm Beck, Karl-Joachim Hölkeskamp and Martin pants will be issued. The languages of publication are German, English, French and Italian.
